At Aphrodite Honey, every jar comes from small-batch, raw beekeeping on our family apiary based in Thessaly, Greece. We're proud that this quality has been recognised by the Great Taste Awards, run by the Guild of Fine Food and widely regarded as the UK's largest and most trusted food and drink accreditation scheme and world widely recognised.

What is Great Taste?

Each year, thousands of products are blind-tasted by a panel of over 500 of the food industry's most demanding palates, including chefs, restaurateurs, food writers and specialist retailers. Judging is done without any knowledge of branding or packaging, so every product is assessed purely on flavour, texture and quality. Great Taste is widely considered the food and drink industry's most rigorous blind-tasting programme.

How the star ratings work

Products that impress the tasting panel are awarded 1, 2 or 3 stars depending on how highly the judges rate them:

1 star - Simply Delicious. Awarded to around 28% of entries, marking a genuinely great-tasting product.

2 stars - Outstanding. Awarded to around 10% of entries, reserved for exceptional taste..

3stars - Exquisite. The judges' highest honour, awarded to fewer than 2% of entries and reserved for the most outstanding products in the country.
